NADIA

This is the first blog post of a new series. I'm going to present all my dolls.

Nadia is Momoko 'Everyday B-Girl' by Sekiguchi (released in 2005). I bought her October 2009 and she was my first Momoko doll. I liked her so much and it caused that soon more and more these dolls arrived to me. I have more than 20 Momokos at present and they are most of my doll collection.

I like her curly hair and nice face. She arrived with great shoes and very detailed backpack. Her original jeans are well made but she can't sit down wearing them. The top is short but black clothes are always useful.

She's one of these dolls I've never thought to sell.

More of my dolls soon.

  1. Nadia is a very pretty doll. I love her curly hair which looks to be in great condition. I can see why you have never thought about selling her. She has the honor of being your first Momoko. I look forward to meeting your other dolls!

    1. Thank you on behalf of Nadia. Her hair is a little bigger than seven years ago but they are indeed in good condition. She is one of my favourite Momoko dolls.
I'm working on following posts in this series.

  2. Nadia looks gorgeous. I am loving her style. Looking forward to seeing your dolls. I've wondered for a while what dolls you had as I see a nice variety of them on your blog.

How do you find her compared with IT dolls and the Made to Move Barbie? Momoko is one of those dolls I've been procrastinating on for quite a long time but haven't as yet made the decision to get one.

    1. Thank you so much for your nice comment. I'm going to publish about 30 posts about my dolls and most of them are Momoko.

In comparison with IT dolls and the Made to Move Barbie, Momokos are smaller and more delicate. Their ankles and wrists are troublesome (I broke a few wrists in spite of being very carefully when I changed clothes) but they are really charming. I like their faces and shoes very much. I wish they had better bodies.

As for Integrity, I like only Poppy Parker because the rest of sixth scale dolls from this company have too long legs (and not articulated ankles). I prefer more proportional bodies. Of course, nude Momokos are very slim but they looks good though in my opinion (and they can sit pretty).
Made to Move Barbies have great articulation and nice but not my favourite faces. But they poses well, share clothes with Poppy and are inexpensive.

My advice is to buy one cheaper Momoko and see if you will like her. There are several NRFB Momokos for less than $100 with shipping on Ebay now.

    2. Thanks for the detailed information. I had wondered about the Momoko ankles and wrists. In photos they even look very delicate. I like their faces though. The FR Nippon Misaki has similar face screening, that softer look which is quite charming. I do know they have a lot of fashion out there for them and it's all so lovely. I kind of want to get one just so I can buy the clothing being sold for them!!

Thanks for the advice. I will keep my eye out on ebay. May have to wait a little though as I just bought a bjd and the wallet is looking a bit thin!

    1. Dzięki. Od niej się zaczęło moje 'momokowanie' :) Spodnie niestety tylko do fotografowania na stojąco, ale raczej trudno o lalkowe dżinsy, w których lalka mogłaby usiąść.

    1. Twój komentarz skłonił mnie do sprawdzenia znaczenia nazwy/tytułu 'B-Girl'. Dotychczas myślałam, że chodzi o 'bad girl', a tu niespodzianka! To skrót od 'bar-girl'! Wyjaśnienie tutaj http://www.dictionary.com/browse/b-girl
Szczerze mówiąc to niespecjalnie mi ta bar-girl pasuje, ale trudno, lalka jest fajna, a nazwa mało istotna. :)

    2. Zdecydowanie słownikowa definicja do niej nie pasuje. Nie wygląda na osóbkę, która pozwalałaby sobie w kaszę dmuchać :)
